Jennifer Sharkey Buscemi, 65, wife of Michael Buscemi of Kannapolis, NC died on Saturday, August 24, 2024. Jennifer is predeceased by her parents Robert and Wanda Norton Sharkey of Orlando FL.
Jennifer had suffered from liver and kidney problems for the last four years.
Jennifer’s father Sr Master Sgt Robert Sharkey was career USAF which led the family to many locations including Homestead, FL, Lakeland, FL, Edwards Air Force Base, CA, Oahu, HI and finally Orlando, FL.
Jennifer graduated from Oakridge Sr High School in Orlando, FL in 1976 and went on to work for Southland Construction of Apopka, FL for over 30 years. Her last position was as Accounts Payable Business Manager.
As a young lady Jennifer played guitar and sang with local bands in Orlando, FL. She also enjoyed working at Our Kids Tropical Nursery in Winter Garden, FL.
She loved animals. Over the years she had a collection of pet chickens Henrietta, Ginger, Gretchen, Mary Ann, a pot belly pig Petunia, a duck, Waddles and a rescued horse, Sadie, two Great Pyrenees Ali and Bama, cats Grey Cat and Mae and lab Gracie.
One of her passions was visiting old cemeteries, her favorite being Bonaventure in Savannah, GA. She appreciated old architecture and collected stained glass windows from old churches.
Jennifer is a special lady and will be greatly missed by all of her family, relatives and scores of friends.
Jennifer leaves two sisters, Dani McMichen and husband Rocky of Fairhope, AL, Trina Day and husband Michael of Orlando, FL, a brother Jimmy Sharkey and wife Val of Astatula, FL, sons Jason Sharkey and wife Jennifer Glover of China Grove, Casey Mabe and wife Sari of Ormond Beach, FL, a daughter Leigh Hart and husband Jim of Casselberry, FL,
Nine beloved grandchildren, Trent, Travis, Luke and Levi Sharkey, Ava and Isla Mabe, Alexis, Nicholas and Brittany Glover, and a great grandchild, Kollins Pulliam.
