Obituary: Audrey Jerlene Lear Alexander, 84, of Landis went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 from her home after a period of declining health. Funeral services will be held at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel at 2:30 PM Saturday, February 9 with Rev. Mark Liner (nephew) officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home from 1:00 to 2:30 prior to the funeral. Jerlene was born February 18, 1928 in Cabarrus Co., a daughter of the late William F. Lear, Sr. and Nancy Linebarrier Lear. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Ken Alexander; her son, Daniel Timothy Alexander; her sisters, Mattie L. Liner and Gladys G. Grass and her brothers, Curtis J. Lear and Max L. Lear. Those left to cherish her memories include her daughter, Tona A. Benson (William) of Landis, 5 grandchildren; Brooke Benson, Carrie Alexander, Whitney Benson, Daniel Alexander and Jonathan Alexander; 5 great-grandchildren and 6 brothers; William F. "Bud" Lear of TX, Boyce J. Lear of Gastonia, Bobby Ray Lear of Kannapolis, Ted M. Lear of Moline KS, Harold P. Lear of Westminster SC and Joseph W. Lear of Mooresville.
