Jerrell "Jerry" Belcher

Jerrell “Jerry” Belcher, 85, of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 24, 2025, at Tucker Hospice House. He was born on September 12, 1939, in Birmingham to the late Clarence Henry Belcher and Martha Evalene Pace Belcher.

Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a member of the Seabees. A man of deep faith, Jerry cherished the Bible, reading it so often that he wore out three copies before the bindings fell apart. His love for God and others remained a central part of his life until the very end.

Throughout his life, Jerry found joy in working outside, bass fishing, and was a talented artist. Above all, he was a loving and devoted husband to his wife, Carla, whom he was married to for 63 years. Together, they traveled the world during Jerry’s career as an engineer, creating memories and experiences that they cherished deeply. 

Jerry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carla, in December 2022, and by his brothers, Jim and Perry Belcher, and his sister, Sue Brown.

He is survived by his son, Dan Belcher (Linda), his daughter, Dana Turner (Dean), his sister, Ann Davis, seven grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren. Jerry's legacy of love, faith, and kindness will live on through his family and all who knew him.
