Obituary: Jerry F. Freeze, 79, of Kannapolis, passed away, Friday, November 2, 2018 at his home. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, Nov. 8 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Leroy Blankenship officiating, burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park with military rites. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday Nov. 7 at Whitley's Funeral Home. Jerry was born March 8, 1939 in Cabarrus Co. to the late Willie F. Freeze and Mary Irene Donahue Freeze. He was a graduate of Enochville Schools. He served in the U.S. Navy and then joined the Army Reserves with the 1454 Transportation Unit Concord, NC, He was deployed during Desert Storm, retiring after 24 years of military service. He was a former pastor of Central Baptist Church in Kannapolis, Rockwell Baptist Church, and former associate minister at Gospel Light Baptist Church. He will be missed by all who knew him. Jerry was preceded in death by one daughter Regina Foster. Those left to cherish her memory, his wife of 39 years Faye Plyler Freeze, children; Alan Tucker (Debbie) of Kannapolis, Lisa Tucker of Kannapolis, Jeanie Dunlap of Georgia, Jackie Christy of Kannapolis, other children are Jerry Freeze Jr., Donna Smith, Cindy Simpson, 19 grandchildren and 33 Great grandchildren, and one sister Karen Dabbs of Fayetteville.
