Jerry Hager

Obituary: Jerry Donald Hager, Sr., 76 of Concord passed away at his home due to declining health on Wednesday, November 4, 2015. Jerry was born on September 17, 1939 in Cabarrus County, NC the son of the late JD Hager and the late Rudie Morrow Hager. In addition to his parents, Jerry is preceded in death by a son, Perry Hager, a grandson, Chris Hager and a brother, Howard Hager. Mr. Hager was a proud member of Parkwood Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He had worked in the textile industry, enjoyed woodworking and dearly loved traveling to visit friends. He never met a stranger. A memorial service will take place at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 8th at Parkwood Baptist Ch. conducted by Rev. Michael Waters and Rev. Bo Sherrill. The family will receive friends from 2-3:00 before the service. Burial will take place at a later date at West Lawn Mem. Park, China Grove. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Rachel Johnson Hager of the home; a son, Don Hager (Jeana) of China Grove; three daughters; Cathy Fields (Steve) of Mooresville; Crystal Price (Jeff) and Cindy Shores (Chris) both of Concord; nine grandchildren; Justin Fields, Kelly Atkins, Heather Gore, Alicia Griffin, Jackie Munder, Brock Shores, Kevin Hager, Whitney Shores and Trevor Hager; two step-grandchildren; Mitchell Smith and Jacob Smith; six great-grandchildren; a sister; Carol Bost and a brother; Glenn Hager. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be left at: Parkwood Baptist Ch., Deaf Ministries, 1069 Central Dr., Concord, NC 28027 or to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Ln, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
