Jerry H. Johnson

Obituary: Jerry H. Johnson, 78, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at the Tucker Hospice House. Mr. Johnson was born in Rowan County February 12, 1935 to the late Kenneth King Johnson and Jessie Burris Johnson. Jerry was in the construction business for many years and he was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in China Grove. Survivors include his wife, Bert Johnson; one granddaughter, Crystal Sauls; two great- grandchildren, Ashley and Alexis Sauls; five brothers, Ray Johnson, Gene Johnson, Delmer Johnson, Teddy Johnson, and Gary Johnson; two sisters, Janice Higgins and Marleen Horton; and a daughter-in-law, Collen Johnson. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; his three children, Robin Johnson, Jerry Allen Johnson, and Tina Johnson; and a brother, L.A. Johnson. A funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, September 16, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Berry Kemp and Rev. Delmer Johnson. Burial will follow at West lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 10:00-11:00 A.M. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Liberty Baptist Church in China Grove, P.O.
