Jerry Lee Little, Sr.

Obituary: Kannapolis, NC- Jerry Lee Little, Sr., age 66, died Friday, March 19, 2010 at Transitional Health Services of Kannapolis after 14 years of declining health and 4 months of serious illness. He was born April 10, 1943 in Cabarrus County, NC, the son of the late Howard Lee Little and Quentine Hurley Little. He was a 1961 graduate of A.L. Brown High School and graduated from Catawba College in 1966 with a B.A. degree in business administration. He was a buyer for Belk Department Stores for 23 years and also Roses Department Stores for 5 years having worked throughout North Carolina. His passions were all kinds of sports including anything with A.L. Brown High's sports programs and the UNC Carolina Tarheels. In his spare time he loved to play golf and fish. Jerry was thought of by many as a good Christian man, full of faith, and was an avid Bible scholar. His family thought of him as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two baby daughters, Paige and Natalie, who made it to Heaven first and a brother-in-law, Howard Morgan. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be 5:00 P.M. Monday, March 22, 2010 at Whitley's Funeral Home Annex Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Glynn E. Weatherby, Jr. Burial will be at a later date. The family will receive friends from 3:30 to 5:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home prior to the service. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Sherri Glenn Little; two daughters, Glynis Little Greene & husband, Randy of Asheboro, NC and Mica Little Ball & husband, Mario of Kannapolis, NC; a son, Jerry Lee Little, Jr. & wife, Kathy of Tuckaseegee, NC; one brother, Robert Little & wife, Katrina of Kannapolis, NC; a sister, Birma Morgan of Kannapolis, NC; seven grandchildren, Tyler Greene, Zachary Greene, Gabrielle Greene, Stacey Little, Katlyn Little, Mason Little, and Jordan Ball; a great-grandson, Maverick Ball; one brother-in-law, Jimmy Glenn of San Francisco, CA; a sister-in-law, Cathy Glenn McManus & husband, Adam of Kannapolis, NC; and a number of special nieces and a nephew.
