Jerry Lee Pless

Jerry Lee Pless, 80, of Salisbury, passed away Saturday evening, September 25, 2021, at Atrium Health Cabarrus.

Born October 2, 1940, in Cabarrus County, he was the son of the late Edward Lee and Lena Livengood Pless. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Pless Eudy.

Earlier if life, Jerry had honorably served his country with the US Army and had been a member of Centergrove Lutheran Church. Mr. Pless was an experienced and talented machinist, having worked at Cannon Mills, later owning and operating P & E Machine Shop. A loving and devoted husband, dad, grandfather and friend of many, Jerry will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew and loved him.

Family members include his loving wife of 60 years, Sherley Ann Smith Pless; his sons, Brent and Mark Pless; his grandchildren, Brooke Pless Abuoelezz, Dalton, Tyler and Jax Pless; and 1 soon to be great-grandchild; nephew and niece, Derrick and Daphne; and sister-in-law, Hazel Smith Swink.

A memorial service to remember and give thanks for Jerry’s life will be held at a later date.
