Obituary: Jerry Scott Rogers, age 44, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at CMC-NorthEast, Concord, NC. He was born October 30, 1969 in Cabarrus County, NC, the son of Watt Jerry Rogers and Linda Young Pope, both of China Grove, NC. He attended the Rowan County Schools. Scott was employed for many years with Parkdale Mills, Landis, NC. His family fondly remembers his love of life and sense of humor. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 P.M. Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. James Griffin. Burial will follow at Kannapolis Cemetery, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 12:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service. Survivors in addition to his parents include two sons, Matthew Rogers and Joshua Rogers, both of China Grove, NC; one grandchild, Alexander Rogers, step-mother, Loretta Rogers of China Grove, his grandfather; Watt Rogers of China Grove, two brothers, Phil Rogers of Landis, NC and Nathan Rogers of Salisbury, NC; and his two pets dogs, Sandy and Molly.
