Jerry Sherrill, Sr.

Obituary: Jerry Wayne Sherrill, Sr., 80, of Kannapolis went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at his residence following a period of declining health. Jerry was born October 20, 1938 in Iredell County, NC a son of the late Lloyd Edmund Sherrill and Evelyn Melissa Berry Sherrill. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Martin Sherrill in November 1994 and a grandson, Jerry Wayne Sherrill, III on April 1, 2006. Jerry was owner and operator of Sherrill's Trucking Company until his retirement. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Kannapolis. Survivors include three children; Tammie Sherrill, Jerry Wayne Sherrill, Jr. and Joy Sherrill Milam, all of Kannapolis. Four grandchildren; Shenna Sherrill, Justin Milam and wife Nichole, Bristol Milam and husband Armando Gutierrez, Melissa Rodriquez and wife Jessica. He is also survived by eight great grandchildren and a brother, Tony Sherrill of Kannapolis. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Darryl Evans. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. At other times the family will be at the residence.
Visitation: 1:00-2:00 P.M., Tuesday January 16, 2018 Whitley's Funeral Home.

Service: 2:00 P.M., Tuesday January 16, 2018 Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment: Carolina Memorial Park.
