Jerry L. Stogner

Obituary: Jerry L. Stogner, age 64, of Mooresville died Sunday, October 25, 2009 at the Brian Center of Mooresville after a period of declining health. A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday October 28 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at Whitley's Funeral Home Annex Chapel. Private burial will take place at a later date. Jerry was born October 22, 1945 in Statesville to the late Melvin and Elizabeth Joines Stogner. He was a life long area resident. Jerry was a member of the IBEW Local 379 in Charlotte for many years until he retired in 1989. He enjoyed building and racing Dragsters for several years after retiring. In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his brother, Ernie Stogner and grandson, Emiliano Para. He was survived by his wife, Linda of the family home; his son, Robert Stogner and wife, Cathy of Mooresville; his daughter, Donna Cline and husband, Donald of Harrisburg; step-daughters, Melodi Lake and Shannon Simpson, both of Monroe. Jerry is also survived by his brother, David Stogner of Charlotte and by 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Online condolences may be left at www.whitleysfuneralhome.com.
