Jessie Louise Nichelson

Obituary: Jessie Louise Stirewalt Nichelson, 88, of Charlotte passed away Thursday, June 8, 2017 at home with her family. Louise was born December 30, 1928 in Rowan County, daughter of the late Henry Lee Stirewalt and Jessie Coone Stirewalt. She was preceded in death by a grandchild, Brittany Michelle Nichelson, three sisters, Eleanor Sechler (Troy), Jewel Lowder (Robert) and Carolyn Mecimore (Edgar). Louise was educated in the Rowan County schools. She was very active at University Hills Baptist Church until recent years. Louise loved singing hymns, baking, cooking and making a loving home for her family and friends. She was the beloved wife of 68 years to Robert Harrison Nichelson, proud mother of Lynn N. Erwin (Billy), Cathy N. Dover, Robert Nichelson II (Rita), grandmother of Brad Erwin, Blake Nichelson, Natalie Nichelson, great grandmother of Zachary Erwin, Hannah Erwin and great great grandmother of Peyton Lucero. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, June 12, 2017 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Dr. Michael Toney. Entombment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 PM Sunday, June 11, 2017 at Whitley's.
