Jimmie Burt Heinbaugh

Obituary: Jimmie Burt Heinbaugh, Colonel USAF (RET), passed away January 15, 2019 in Concord, North Carolina after a short illness. Jimmie was the son of Glenn and Mildred (Little) Heinbaugh of Liberty, Indiana. He is survived by his wife Barbara, sons; Randall, James and Eric, daughter, Beth Heinbaugh Calvacca and his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jimmie was a graduate of Liberty High School, Butler University, and the University of Colorado. Throughout a distinguished 30 year military career and a happy 30 year retirement, Jimmie lived in Washington,D.C., Germany, Ohio, Colorado, Texas, Florida, and finally in North Carolina. He was the recipient of many military honors including the Legion of Merit. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. Colonel Jimmie B. Heighbaugh was an officer and gentleman to the end. He will be missed. A memorial service will be held at the family's convenience. Whitley's Funeral Home is serving the family of Colonel Heinbaugh.
