Jimmy Alden Holt

Obituary: Jimmy Alden Holt, 72, of 430 Oak Ave., Kannapolis died at his home on Monday, September 29, 2014. Jimmy was born February 8, 1942 in Cocke Co., TN, the son of the late Lodie Alden Holt and the late Aggie Fox Holt. He was a member of Jackson Park Pentecostal Church and was a truck driver with T.D. Measmier Dairy and, with Plott Water Service. Jimmy enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, and Bar B-Q cooking for large groups. He was a wonderful husband and father and NEVER met a stranger. Survivors include his wife, Mary Upchurch Holt of the home: children, Kim Wedding (Phil) of Charlotte, Tip Holt of Marshville, Samantha Herndon (Nate) of Kannapolis, Kimberly Hampton (Ronnie) of Gaffney, Donnie Maldonado (April) of Cowpens, Tony Maldonado and Wendy Martin (Josh) both of Gaffney, Eve Maldonado and Isabella Maldonado both of the home: Sister, Evelyn Holt of Bybee, TN and brother Ruble Holt of Morristown, TN. Also, by 16 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. The service for Mr. Holt will take place at 11:00a.m., Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Jimmy Barnhill and Rev. Ralph Adams. Burial will take place Friday, Oct. 3rd, at Centerview Baptist Church Cemetery in Bybee, TN. The family will receive friends 9:00-11:00a.m., before the service at the funeral home. The service in Bybee, TN, will take place at Centerview Baptist Church at 2p.m., Friday conducted by Rev. Tim Smith. The family will receive friends from 12-2:00 before the service. The family wishes to express their greatest thanks and appreciation to Emily Upchurch for the care and love she showed to Jimmy in his final hours.
