Jimmy Larry Hooper

Jimmy Larry Hooper, 83, of Kannapolis passed away peacefully October 24, 2021 at Atrium Health Cabarrus after a period of declining health.

A graveside service will be held at Carolina Memorial Park at 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 2nd. The family will receive friends after the graveside service.

Jimmy was born on February 27, 1938 in Cabarrus Co.,a son of the late Jepty Boyd and Tamer Dancy Hooper. In addition to his parents, Jimmy is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo Childers Hooper, his brother, Jerry Hooper and his sister, Geraldine Key.
Jimmy went to work at an early age to help support his family. He went on to own and operate Hooper's Hosiery Mill and store for many years. Jimmy loved to tell Jokes and enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed.

Survivors include his son, Tim Hooper and his daughter Amy Teague, both of Kannapolis, his grandchildren, Alisia Hooper, Kaylen Teague, Travis Absher and Brayden Absher and 2 great-grandchildren; Gabriel and Bryson Burgess.
