Jo Ann M. Talbert

Obituary: Jo Ann M. Talbert, 71, of 522 Wright Avenue died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010 at her home. She was born May 23, 1938 in Cabarrus County, the daughter of the late Henry L. and Wilamena Mabrey. She was also preceded in death by a half-brother, Arthur L. Mabrey. She retired from CT Communications after 35 years in 2001. She was a 1956 graduate of A.L. Brown High School and a 1958 graduate of Wingate Junior College. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, Feb 6, 2010, at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Dr. Rick Felts, chaplain of Hospice of Lake Norman. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday at Whitley's. She is survived by her husband Larry W. Talbert, two sons Daniel S. and Bryan A. Talbert both of Kannapolis, a daughter Jennifer T. Cooke (Mickey) of Concord, five grandchildren: Kayla, Chace and Brantley Talbert of Kannapolis and Lindsay and Wesley Cooke of Concord.
