Obituary: JoAnn Campbell Talbert, 79, of Concord went to her Heavenly home on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Carolinas Medical Center - Northeast. She was born December 11, 1935 in Cabarrus County the daughter of the late Hoyle Campbell and the late Mary Elizabeth Knowles Campbell. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for a short time at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital and also worked in several area hosiery mills. She loved spending time with her family, especially her great-grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling each year to the beach and on various other trips. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Ray Talbert and her daughter Deborah Talbert Burris. Survivors include daughter, Cathy Smith & son-in-law Lanny Smith; grandchildren Holly Wyke (Ben), Amanda Hoffman (Josh), Dustin Burris (Allie), Russell & Kelsey Smith; three great-grandchildren Palmer & Harper Wyke and Adyson Hoffman; brother Donnie Campbell (Margaret); nephew Mike Campbell (Abbey & Rachel Grace). Of course we cannot forget her sweet dog, Jules. Service & Visitation: The family will receive friends Saturday, February 21 at Whitley's Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00pm. A Funeral service will be held at 2pm Sunday, February 22 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with Pastors Jim Summey & Derrick Ross officiating followed by burial at Oakwood Cemetery.
