On July 25, 2022, our Momma went home to be with Jesus. Joanne Croy Ragan, born February 15, 1940, in Bluefield, WV to the late Arnold and Gladys Croy. A 1958 graduate of Bluefield High School, she packed up her husband and her kids and moved to Charlotte in 1967, so that Daddy could work for NASCAR driver Buck Baker, thus began a long association with racing. Five years later, she moved us again, to a hilltop in the county, where she lived for over fifty years. Momma retired from Ingersoll Rand in 1999.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Ragan; a granddaughter, Jessica; and siblings, Linda Delker and Larry Croy.
Left to always love her are her son Ken Ragan and wife Cindy of Concord; her daughters, Kathy Coley and husband Howard of Davidson and Kay Cook of Concord; seven grandchildren, Miranda Barnes, Chris Coley, Matthew Coley, Laura Coley, Greg Ragan, Darren Cook, and Sara Westfall; 17 great grandchildren; two brothers, Harry Croy and Jim Croy, both of West Virginia; and numerous other family members who meant so much to her.
Momma didn't want us to be sad. We will plan to celebrate her life at a later date at her home.
We would like to express a very special thank you to Laura. You are an angel on Earth.
