Obituary: Kannapolis, NC- His loving Saviour welcomed Joe Ervin Hyde, age 91, into His arms Wednesday, February 13, 2013. He had lived at Big Elm Retirement Center, Kannapolis, NC for the past five years. He was able to spend Valentine's Day in Heaven with his wife, Fay Gray Hyde. Survivors include his two daughters, Jody Redmond & husband, Steve; and Jill Cross, both of Kannapolis, NC; three grandchildren, Stephanie Pritchard & husband, Jan; Jonathan Redmond, and Aaron Joe Hyde; and three great-grandchildren; Alyssa, Alexxa, and Alyvia Pritchard; and one brother, Harold Hyde of Kannapolis, NC. The funeral service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Monday, February 18, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Billy Carey. Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Monday, February 18, 2013 at the funeral home prior to the service.
