Obituary: Joe C. Joplin, 69, formerly of Kannapolis, died Monday, November 28, 2011 at Presbyterian Hospital-Matthews, NC. His death follows a period of declining health. Mr. Joplin was born on February 10, 1942 in Chesterfield County, SC., the son of the late William and Mary Hancock Joplin.He was employed for 43 years at Cannon Mills where he was a tow motor operator. Mr. Joplin is survived by a sister, Joyce Jones of Loris, SC., and a nephew, Rondal Jones of Monroe.A memorial service will be held Friday, December 2, 2011 at 3:00 PM at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel.Online condolences may be left at www.whitleysfuneralhome.com
