Joe Bryant Kidd

Obituary: Joe Bryant Kidd, 79, of Kannapolis passed away on Friday, March 20, 2015 at the Tucker Hospice House. He was born November 21, 1935 in Madison County, Georgia, the son of the late Jessie and Sarah Mitchell Kidd. He was owner/operator of Kidd's Painting Service for many years before his retirement in 1999. He was a member of Central Baptist Church where he was very active and held many positions in the church in earlier years, including Deacon and Brotherhood Director. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean War. He loved going to the beach. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, March 22, 2015 at Central Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Curtis Parker and Rev. Gary Steedley. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park with military honors. The family will receive friends at the church prior from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Mullis Kidd, sons, Ronald Eugene Kidd of Kannapolis and Gerald Wayne Kidd (Teresa) of China Grove, 3 grandchildren, Christopher Kidd, Traci Webb and Jennifer Steedley, 4 great grandchildren, Aiden, Isabelle, Sawyer and Finley, sisters, Pam K. Ashe (Gary) of Concord, Frances K. McKnight (Jimmy) of Huntington Beach, Ca. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospitals, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
