Obituary: Joe Taylor, 82, of Rowan County met his heavenly Father on Friday, May 12, 2017. He was born in Laurel Hill, NC on November 5, 1934. Joe was raised to work on the farm. He spent his early years providing for his family instead of attending school. Once he met Dottie, he was hooked on her caring nature and good cooking. Together, they moved from Laurinburg to China Grove. Known for his hard work, Joe served 30 years and retired from China Grove Textile Mill. In the years that followed, Joe spent most of his time riding his motorcycle and being the best husband, dad, papaw and friend that ever lived. Long known for his infatuation of cars and love for the beach, Joe always had a story to tell and never met a stranger. He was a strong, hardworking man and will forever be missed. The family personally thanks Rowan County Hospice House and Liberty Commons Rehab Center for their hard work and dedication. He leaves his wife of 52 years, Dottie Taylor, daughters, Tammy Brown (Jody), Joey Seamon (Wesley), sons, Frankey "Porkey" Taylor (Tracy), Jody Taylor and David Taylor, grandchildren, Tiffany, Trevor, John, Amber, Heather, Jennifer, Amy, Joe, Tommy and 11 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Revs. Phillip Murph and Cathy Beaver. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Monday, May 15, 2017 at Whitley's Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at www.whitleysfuneralhome.com
