Obituary: On Wednesday, April 25th, Joe Martin Wilson left his earthly home and arrived at his eternal one. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, friend to all who knew him. His quick wit, down to earth conservative politics, and sweet, loving ways will be missed. He was 83 years old having been born on June 28, 1928 in Kannapolis, NC. He served in the United States Navy in 1945. He retired in 1990 from Celanese in Salisbury, NC. He was preceded in death by his wife, Curley Scarborough Wilson, his parents, Lester Shottle Wilson and Felisha Rodgers Wilson, brother, Perry Wilson and sister, Louise Corriher. He is survived by his daughters, Janice Wilson Wesson (David) of High Point, NC, Pamela Jo Wilson of the home and a son, Steven Randall Wilson of Sarasota, Florida. Grandsons Travis Wilson Basinger, Blake Lee Basinger of Kannapolis, Jake Orion Wesson (Amber) of High Point, NC. Brothers; Jack Wilson (Marie) of Mt. Airy, NC, Ned Wilson (Becky) of Greensboro, NC, John Wilson (Laurel) of Crumpler, NC and Roger Wilson (Chris) of Rockwell, NC. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the physicians and nurses at High Point Regional Health Systems Emergency Department and ICU for their compassion and comfort during his brief stay there. You will not be forgotten. A funeral service will be held 3:00 P.M. Sunday, April 29, 2012 at Charity Baptist Church with the Rev. R.J. (Beaver) Hammond and Rev. Ron Bushey officiating.
