Joel Keith Johnson

Obituary: Mr. Joel Keith Johnson, 76, of Landis went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Wednesday, March 23, 2016 after a brief illness. He was born January 4, 1940 in Rowan County to the late Oscar Woodrow Johnson and Thelma Whitley Johnson. Joel was a very active member of the First United Methodist Church, Landis where he served as Sunday School Teacher and was active in the Methodist Men. He enjoyed helping with the hot dog sales and all fund raising projects and always very supportive of the church. He loved interacting with kids. Joel was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Michael Johnson and a sister Shirley C. Barbee. Family members left to cherish is memories are his wife, Barbara Kelly Johnson of the home, his son Jeffrey Johnson and wife Jodi of Greensboro, N.C. and his daughter Kelly Jo Robinson and husband Kyle of China Grove, N.C. , his brother Daniel ( Danny ) Johnson and wife Vickie of Kannapolis, N.C.,grandchildren, James Robinson, Holly Robinson, Kole Norris and Sophia Johnson. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 26, 2016 at First United Methodist Church, Landis with Pastor Adam Love officiating. The family will receive friends and guest from 1:00 P.M. until the funeral hour at the church. Entombment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove, N.C.
