Obituary: Joey Alan Bonds, age 54, died Sunday, August 14, 2011 at his home after twenty months of declining health.He was born May 1, 1957 in Cabarrus County, NC, the son of Wanda Russell Bonds of Charlotte. NC and the late James Horace Bonds. He attended A.L. Brown High School in Kannapolis, NC. Joey was owner & operator of Bonds Trucking, Charlotte, NC after an overall career of twenty years. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, August 18, 2011 at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Chaplain J.D. Parker, hospice chaplain. Survivors in addition to his mother include a brother, Jimmy Bonds of Charlotte, NC; two sisters, Sandra Bonds of the home and Sheila Bailey of Kannapolis, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews whom he dearly loved; and his maternal grandmother, Margaret Russell of China Grove, NC.Thanks to Hospice & Palliative Care of Charlotte South with special thanks going to his guardian angel, Carlene White.
