Obituary: John Edward "Hoot" Hanna, 66 of Kannapolis passed away, Friday, November 9, 2018 at his home. A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday November 18, at his home, with the Rev. Rob Fenske officiating. He was born April 10, 1952 in Oil City, PA to the late Charles Herbert Hanna and Marian Elizabeth Mason Hanna. John was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the Air Force, he worked for Randal Metals of Salisbury for 13 years until his retirement in 2012. He enjoyed working on model cars and planes, fishing, and camping. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter Christy Dixon, siblings; Barb Britt, Chuck Hanna, Darwin Hanna, Beverly Tibbs, Marian Six, and Gary Hanna. Those left to cherish his memory, his wife of 34 years Chris Hanna, one son, Jeff Poling of Charlotte, one daughter Karrie Poling of Kannapolis, one sister Jane Schubert of PA, one brother Robert "Pete" Hanna of Texas, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
