John Nelson Hudson

Obituary: John Nelson Hudson, 80 of Kannapolis died Saturday May 14, 2011 at CMC-NE . His death was due to injuries following an accident at his residence. Mr. Hudson was born on July 20, 1930 in Cabarrus County a son of the late James T. Hudson and Pearl Louise Carriker Hudson. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by 2 brothers, C.B. and James Robert Hudson. Mr. Hudson was a long time employee in the textile industry and retired in 1994. He worked several part-time jobs after retirement to keep busy. He was a member of Eastwood Baptist Church where he served as usher and was known for his love of his lord and family. He was loved by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Miriam T. Hudson of the home, a daughter; Kathy H. Morrison (Philip) of Davidson, a son; Nelson W. Hudson and life partner Mark P. Burris of Albemarle, three grandchildren; Shelia Lister (Ted) , Philip Morrison II and Nathan Morrison all of Davidson, three great grandchildren; T.J., Scottie and Emily Lister, two sisters; Margaret H. Wagoner (Bud), Betty H. Smith (Calvin), and a brother Luke Hudson. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Sybil Burton of Concord and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Eastwood Baptist Church with Pastor Randall Ritchie officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM prior to services at the church on Tuesday. Memorials may be made to Eastwood Baptist Church, 320 Cook St., Kannapolis, NC 28083.
