Obituary: John Walter Jones, 76, of Kannapolis, passed away unexpectedly Saturday morning, August 13, 2016. John was born May 3, 1940 in Giles County, Tennessee, a son of the late Alton Patterson Jones and Jessie Lee Branch Jones. John had honorably served his country with the US Army and had been trained as a cosmetologist and beautician. For the past 10 years or so, he had dealt with glassware and antiques at the Webb Road Flea Market. A memorial celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, August 19th at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel. The family will speak to friends following the services.
