John Quincey Jones, Jr.

John Quincey Jones, Jr. 78 of Kannapolis passed away May 7, 2024 at Atrium Health Cabarrus.  John was born on May 21, 1945, to the late John Quincey Jones, Sr. and the late Esther Roxie Miller Jones.

John was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Kannapolis and was not ashamed to share the word of his Lord with anyone.  He could be found handing out religious tracts and cd’s to share the gospel.  He loved to work on cars and would help anyone he would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it.  He was a great encourager and loved his church family.

In addition to his parents John was preceded in death by his son; Paul Jones, brother; Ronald Jones, sisters; Bonnie Jones and Donell Cline, and his niece; Tara Jones and Tracy Winecoff.

Those left to cherish his memory are daughters; Myra H. Whitley and Glena Wensil (Pastor Tommy), adopted daughter Denise Purvis, Sister; Amanda Cline, brother; Joe Jones, grandchildren; Cambreon Iddings, Jamie Iddings, Christian Whitley, Joshua Wensil, Caleb Wensil and Sarah Wensil Philmone, 5 great grandchildren and multiple nieces and nephews.

A celebration of John’s life will be held Saturday June 8, 2024 beginning at 1:00 PM, at Faith Baptist Church, 904 Chipola St., Kannapolis, NC with Pastor James Pauley officiating.
