Obituary: John Caldwell Penninger was born to the late John C. Penninger and Margie Stone Penninger on May 10, 1928. He was a professional truck driver with a flawless driving record of over one million miles. He was kind to everyone he met and had friends that spanned the entire country, known to many as "Carolina YoYo". He was an accomplished woodworker. He was to his family, truly a "jack of all trades. He enjoyed recalling the days of his many bowling trophies. He was proud of his extensive and highly organized movie collection, and a connoisseur of comedy and cartoons. His furry friend "Buffy" was a constant companion. He was a long time member of the Moose Lodge. He thoroughly enjoyed his friends he "met for coffee". Jack was an honest man with a gentle heart. He is survived by 2 sons, John C. Penninger, III, and James M. (Mike) Penninger, and wife Jenny, of Concord. Grandson, Michael and wife Angie, granddaughter Carly Murphy and husband Chris, and 5 beautiful great grandchildren whom loved their "Pop" immeasurably. He is also survived by the mother of his sons, and lifelong friend, Katherine Penninger. A service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 29th at Royal Oaks Baptist Church with Pastor Leon Smith officiating at the Homegoing Service. Memorials can be made to Royal Oaks Baptist Church, 904 Texas St., Kannapolis, NC 28083 where Jack happily attended with his entire family.
