John (Buck) Pope

Obituary: John Lloyd "Buck" Pope, 84, of Denton passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at Mountain Vista Health Park in Denton. He was born October 13, 1934 in Rowan County, a son of the late John and Vernie Burgess Pope. Buck worked in upholstery for most of his life having worked for Liberty Manufacturing and Deal's Upholstery, as well as on his own. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Denton. Buck loved to fish. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis officiated by Dr. Dennis Sheppard. He is survived by his wife, Hazel Murph Pope, son, John Hall, step son, Joel Sexton, sister, Jane Vannoy and husband, Sonny, nephew and niece, Steve and Tallie Crowell, nephews, Billy and Bobby Vannoy.
