John Rogers Rhodes

Obituary: John Rogers Rhodes, 90, of China Gove went to be with his Lord on Monday, October 06, 2014 at W.G. "Bill" Hefner VA Medical Center, Hospice Unit in Salisbury. He was born October 18, 1923 in Rowan County, son of the late John and Sarah Rogers Rhodes John was a retired dump truck driver. He was a veteran of WW2 serving with the Marine Corps in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre. He was a member of Charity Baptist Church in Kannapolis. Survivors include his wife of 35 years; Tillie McManus Rhodes, daughter, Teresa Caudle of China Grove, three sons, Lewis Sibley (Judy) of Midland, James Sibley of Millingsport, and Mike Sibley(Katie) of Oakboro, step-daughter, Tonda Chandler (Medrick) of Gold Hill, ten grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Funeral services will be private. The family requests that in Lieu of flowers memorials be made to the Hospice Unit at the W. G.
