John Charles Segraves

John Charles Segraves, 88, of Kannapolis, passed away Tuesday afternoon, March 15, 2022, at Big Elm Nursing Center, following a period of declining health.

Born May 28, 1933, in Warrensville, NC, he was a son of the late Calvin Ernest Segraves and Iva Lea Hartsoe Segraves.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Clark Segraves; sisters, Ruby Segraves Weaver and Jeannie Segraves Jones; and his brother, Joseph Ernest Segraves.

John had honorably served his country with the US Army, later obtaining an associate degree in automotive repair from Gaston Technical College. He had retired from the dye department of Cannon Mills after more than 50 years of loyal service. Mr. Segraves will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew and loved him.

Family members left with cherished memories include his daughters, Kathie Segraves and Tammie Segraves Rogers; his sister, Ann Segraves Davis; grandchildren, Samuel Picklesimer, II, Amber Figueroa and Michael Christopher Noblitt; great-grandchildren, Antonio and Cass Figueroa and Mykel Noblitt.

A graveside service to remember and celebrate the life of Mr. Segraves will begin at 11:00 am Friday, March 18, 2022, at Carolina Memorial Park, with military graveside rites conducted by the Cabarrus County Veterans and NC National Honor Guards.
