Obituary: John Boyd Triece John Boyd Triece, 92, went to be with his Lord after a short illness at his home in Kannapolis. John was born February 18, 1917, to John Roy and Donier Pierce Triece. He and his father established and operated Triece Concrete Company in Kannapolis from the 1930's to 1965. John then owned and operated The Transmission Center in Kannapolis. John was an Army veteran of WWII, member of the VFW, and active in the YMCA Torch Club, Kimball Lutheran Church men's chorus, choir, council, and Joe Ridenhour Sunday School Class. John is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Aileen Jenkins Triece, sons: John Randolph Triece and wife, Debbie; Philip Timothy Triece, and wife, Laura of Wilmington; and Douglas Henry Triece, and wife, Cindy. He is survived by his sister Dorothy T. Massey, and predeceased by his brother, Browdis, and sister, Melba T. Perkins. Grandchildren are Caleb Triece, and wife Courtney; Ariel Kirk, and husband, Kevin; Tanner Triece; Tracie McCabe, and husband, Bryan of Wilmington; and Amanda Lonander, and husband, Kurt of Wilmington. David and Brynn McCabe, and Kaden Kirk are great-grandchildren. Survivors also include numerous nieces and nephews. The family expresses special thanks to his caregivers, especially Beryl Alston, and the support of family and loved ones in his last weeks. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday June 23, 2009 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel officiated by Rev. Richard Rhoades. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 PM Monday at Whitley's. At other times they will be at the home.
