Obituary: Johnathan "Hunter" Brown, 20, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2016 at CHS-Northeast Medical Center. Born March 23, 1995 in Rowan County, he was a son of John Edward Brown, Jr. and Valerie Denise Risner Belk. Hunter was preceded in death by a brother Rodney Brown; his grandfather's Eddie Brown and Bill Risner, uncle William Risner; step brother Gary Belk, Jr. and his dog Sophie. Hunter graduated from South Rowan High School and attended Rowan Cabarrus Community College. Employed with J.E. Brown Guttering, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, skate boarding, pool, gaming and making You tube videos. Hunter loved all of his family and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Family members left to cherish his memory include his parents Johnny Brown (Shay) of China Grove and Valerie Belk (Gary) of Kannapolis; brother Clint Brown; his sister Stephanie Herge (Ryan); his paternal grandmother Linda Brown; maternal grandparents Betty Risner and David and Lorie Seamon; step-sisters Heather Cline, Kandra Belk and Madison Campbell; step-brothers Carson Glass and Taylor Campbell; nieces and nephews Riley and Rowdy Herge and Mayson and Myiah Brown; aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and his chocolate lab Brownie. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, March 10th from 6:00-8:00 pm at Concordia Lutheran Church (185 Concordia Church Road, China Grove). Funeral services to remember and celebrate Hunter's life will be at 2:00 pm Friday at the church, conducted by Rev's. Ken Reed and Stan Riddle. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
