Obituary: Johnny Alan Brignac, 63, of Kannapolis died Monday, October 3, 2011,at CMC-NorthEast, Concord following a period of declining health. He was born December 23, 1947 in Cabarrus County, a son of Helen Sehorn Carter of Lexington and the late Henry Joseph Brignac. Johnny was a member of Royal Oaks Baptist Church, the Glory Sunday School Class, former youth leader; as he loved working with the youth. He retired after many years as a long distance and local truck driver. John was an excellent craftsman and enjoyed any challenge put before him. He was well loved by all family, friends and neighbors.Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Royal Oaks Baptist Church, Kannapolis conducted by Rev. Leon Smith. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. At other times they will be at the family residence. In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife of 28 years, Tonya Brock Brignac of the home, three daughters, Cortney Brignac of the home, Deanna Sechler and husband Rob of Concord and Michelle Pinion of Athens, Al. One son, Brian Brignac and wife Shirley of Thomasville, Step-Son, David Smith and wife Tana of Palm Coast. Fla., two brothers, Nicky Brignac of the home, and Steve Brignac and wife Linda of Lakeland, Fla., three sisters Janie McClellan and husband Barry of Ocean Isle Beach, Kathy Embler and husband Mickey and Deborah Tarleton all of Southport, NC. Eleven grandchildren, one great grandchild.. Also survived by nieces and nephews." The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Douglas G. Kelling and his staff, Dr. Mark Aldous and staff at Northeast Digestive, all the staff of Northeast Medical Center, Dr. T.H. Rao and his staff at Neurology Consultants of the Carolinas, and P. Jeffrey Ewert. Phd. Of Carolina Neuroservices and his staff."Whitley's Funeral Home is serving the family of Mr. Brignac.
