Johnny Travis Carpenter

Johnny Travis Carpenter, 81 of China Grove went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 5, 2022. He had been in declining health but death was unexpected.

Johnny was born January 5, 1941 in Rowan County, NC a son of the late Franklin Travis Carpenter and Vernie Beaver Carpenter. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sammi Carpenter in 2012 and a brother Dale Carpenter.

He was a member of St. Enoch Lutheran Church in Kannapolis. He was self employed as a flooring installer. Johnny was an avid golfer, enjoyed racing and old cars. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, October 10, 2022 at St. Enoch Lutheran Church conducted by Rev. Dale Cline. The family will receive friends at the church from 12 Noon until 2:00 P.M. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

At other times the family will be at the residence.

Family members left to cherish his memory include his wife of 62 years; Martha Carpenter of the home, three sons; Johnny Carpenter of Rockwell, Jimmy Carpenter and wife Kelly of Rockwell and Shane Carpenter of Salisbury. Also surviving is one sister, Jeanie Beaver and husband Wade of China Grove, four grandchildren; Nicholas Carpenter and wife Kera, Jonathan Carpenter and wife Tori, Corey Carpenter and wife Olivia, Dylan Carpenter and wife Hailey along with three great grandchildren; Emma, Knox and Henry Carpenter.
