Johnny Clinton Cooper

Johnny Clinton Cooper, 79, of Kannapolis went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at his residence following a period of declining health.

Johnny was born October 23, 1942 Mississippi County, Ark. a son of the late Ed Hulet and Willie Mae Wright Cooper. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Gibson Cooper in 2007, a daughter, Patricia Kay Gardner, four brothers; Edward Carlton Cooper, Jimmy Doyle Cooper, Donald Howard Cooper and Gary Lee Cooper.

Johnny was employed for 43 years as a general superintend for Kannapolis Construction and was an accomplished finishing carpenter. He enjoyed gold panning and owned Leprechaun Prospecting Company. He enjoyed driving to Las Vegas which he had done at least 31 times.

There will be a graveside service for Mr. Cooper at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Carolina Memorial Park.

Family members left to cherish his memory include two step-daughters; Pamela Renee Jones Jarvis and husband Ernest Ray Jarvis of Kannapolis and Pauletta Harrington and husband Timothy of China Grove, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Toys for Tots at concord.nc@toysfortots.org.
