Johnny Lehan Gray Jr.

Johnny Lehan Gray Jr., 73, of Concord, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 4, 2024.

Johnny was born on April 21, 1951 in Cabarrus County. He was a cherished son of the late Johnny Lehan Gray Sr. and Mildred Alice Burris Gray. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Pam Rowland and Wayan Gray.

Johnny was a true adventurer at heart, finding immense joy in activities such as fishing, hunting, and camping. His love for motorcycles and classic old western movies added to his adventurous spirit.

Dining out was another favorite pastime, with Pat Mix Fish Camp being a special spot where Johnny enjoyed countless memorable meals and the pleasure of good company.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, David Gray (Donna), Johnny Gray III, and Darrell Gray; step-son, Dillon Scercy; step-daughter, Jamie Price (Ryan); grandchildren, Amanda Gray, David Gray Jr., Ashley Gray, Ashlyn Gray, D.J Gray, Wyatt Goodman, and Jeffery Gray; great-grandchildren, Gracin, Eli, Emmalyn, Julien, Journey, and Skylar; siblings, Gail Scercy, Robert Gray, Gary Gray, Teresa Goodman, and Libby Little.

The family will receive friends from 6-8:00pm on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Whitley’s Funeral Home in Kannapolis. The funeral service will be held the following day at 1:00pm in Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at Sunset Cemetery in Kannapolis.
