Obituary: Johnny Nelson Jones (J.J.), 77, of 1100 Walnut Street, Kannapolis died at CMC-NorthEast in Concord on January 17, 2012.J.J. was born in Ashe Co., NC on Nov. 18, 1934, the son of the late Walter E. Jones and the late, Tennie Ashley Jones. He was of the Methodist faith and a Cannon Mills employee for 15 years. Later he became a truck driver for Voyager Trucking Company and later for C.C.M. Trucking. Survivors include his wife, Virginia E. Jenkins Jones of the home, 2 sons; Gary C. Jones of N. Wilkesboro, NC and Rickie Jenkins of Kannapolis. He has 3 Daughters; Tammy Jenkins of Salisbury, Sharon Jones of Boone and Crystal Wilson of Hickory. 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.The funeral for Mr. Jones will take place at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 20, 2012 at Whitley's Funeral Home Annex Chapel conducted by Rev. Ronnie Cooper. Burial will take place at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Annex Chapel from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday. At other times will be at the family home.
Visitation: The family will receive friends at Whitleys Annex Chapel from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday

Service: The funeral for Mr. Jones will take place at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 20, 2012 at Whitleys Funeral Home Annex Chapel.

Interment: Burial will take place at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
