Obituary: Johnny Edward "Ed" Parson, 55, of Salisbury, formerly of Kannapolis died unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, December 2, 2017. His funeral will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, December 8 at Zion Freewill Baptist Church in Kannapolis with Rev. Jean Tucker and Rev. Randy Tucker officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. His family will receive friends at Zion Freewill Baptist Church the hour prior to the funeral service, from 12:00 noon to 1:00 PM Friday. Ed was born September 1, 1962 in Rowan Co., a son of the late John F. and Betty Sue Harbison Parson. He was a life-long area resident and a longtime auto mechanic for Poteat Engine Repair. He was a hardworking, generous and loving person with the biggest heart in the world. Ed's hobbies included coon hunting, carp fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed. Those left to cherish Ed's memories include his wife of 9 years, Sharon Hastings Parson of the home, his daughter, Brittany Williams (Tommy) of Enochville, his stepchildren; William, Samuel and Terri McBryde, all of Albemarle, 20 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 1 brother, 4 sisters, 3 nieces and 1 nephew.
