Johnny B. Richardson

Obituary: Johnnie B. Richardson, age 82, passed away on Monday, August 24, 2015 at Avante at Concord, Concord, NC after a period of declining health. He was born June 3, 1933 in Rowan County, NC, the son of the late Luther Thomas Richardson and Mary Lula Deese Richardson. Johnnie was a 1951 graduate of the former J.W. Cannon High School and was also a graduate of Catawba College. Johnnie was vice-president & general manager of the former Terry Products, Inc., Kannapolis, NC for over thirty years. His family fondly remembers his love of playing golf at the former Kannapolis Golf Club where he was a member of forty years. He also found time for surf fishing on the N.C. Outer Banks. He was also a long-time member of Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church, Kannapolis, NC. Johnnie was a veteran of the US Army having served during the Korean Conflict. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Dolly Cruse Richardson; a sister, Lois Richardson; and two brothers, Luther Thomas Richardson, and Therman Richardson. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 3:30 PM Friday, August 28, 2015 at Whitley's Funeral Home Annex Chapel, Kannapolis, NC. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:30 PM Friday at the funeral home annex prior to the service. Survivors include his son, Eric Richardson (Tracy) of Mooresville, NC; his daughter, Robin Moore of Kannapolis, NC; grandchildren, Jonathan & Thomas Moore, Adam Richardson, and Alley Schriber; his great-grandson, Brody Zade Richardson; two brothers, Aundra Richardson (Jatana) and Glenn Richardson (Ruby), both of Kannapolis, NC; and his sister, Doris Henderson (Ed) of Alpharetta, GA.
