Obituary: Johnny O'Neal Russ, 48, of 5821 Christy Circle, Kannapolis died Nov. 11, 2009 at his home. He was born May 8, 1961 in Cabarrus County, the son of John C. Russ of Concord and the late Betty Griffin Russ. He had formerly worked at Pillowtex-Cannon before becoming disabled. He was a veteran serving with the US Marine Corps. A graveside service with military honors will be 11:00 AM Monday(Nov. 16, 2009) at The National Cemetery in Salisbury officiated by Rev. Mike Mullis. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 PM Sunday at Whitley's Funeral Home. In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife Denise, three children Andrew Russ, Nicholas Russ and Kelly Russ, two sisters Gladys Page and Shirley Kiker and his brother Rick Russ.
