Johnsie Ellis (Rumple) Christy

Johnsie Ellis Rumple Christy, born on May 21,1928, peacefully departed this world on June 2, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, compassion, and faith. In her early years, Johnsie embarked on a journey of hard work and commitment, serving as a dedicated towel cutter at Cannon Mills, where her industrious spirit shone brightly. Later, she graced the Piedmont Residential Development Center with her culinary talents, spreading warmth and nourishment as a beloved cook.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Johnsie's life was anchored by her unwavering faith, as evidenced by her long-standing membership at Mount Olive Lutheran Church and love for others. There, she found community, and purpose, enriching the lives of those around her with her devotion and kindness.

Johnsie Ellis Rumple Christy will be remembered fondly for her gentle demeanor, her selflessness, and her steadfast commitment to her family, friends, and community. While she may have departed from this world, her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.

A celebration of Johnsie's life will be held Saturday, June 8th, 2024 at 2 pm at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 9400 Gold Hill Road, Mt. Pleasant, NC 28124, followed by a visitation in the fellowship hall. Friends and loved ones will gather to honor her memory and pay tribute to a life well-lived. In recognition of the dedication and care provided by the staff of Atrium Health Hospice & Palliative Care, donations may be made to support their invaluable service in memory of Johnsie Ellis Rumple Christy.
