Jonas Dolphas Kilby

Obituary: Jonas Dolphas, "J.D." Kilby, 75 of Kannapolis passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at the Bob and Carolyn Tucker Hospice House. He was born September 22, 1936 in Miller's Creek, NC, the son of the late Ernest and Edna Miller Kilby. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Odell and Otis Kilby and a sister, Gene McAllister. J.D. retired from Cannon Mills, Plant 1 where he was a fixer after 52 years of service. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, August 5, 2012, at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove officiated by Rev. Ron Bushey. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 PM prior at Whitley's Funeral Home in Kannapolis. He is survived by his wife, Linda Sechler Kilby, son Tommy Kilby and wife Sherri, grandson Dolph , beloved pet Cody, four sisters: Rachel Huffman, Marie Pressley (Neal), Karen Huffman (Bill) and Raydale Wyatt and two brothers Glen Kilby (Nita) and Vonley Kilby. Memorials may be made to the Bob and Carolyn Tucker Hospice House, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.

Service: A graveside service 3:00 PM Sunday, August 5, 2012, at West Lawn Memorial Park
