Obituary: Jonathan Andrew Davis, 31, of China Grove, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Carolinas Healthcare System Northeast following a period of declining health. Born November 28, 1984 in Cabarrus County, he was a son of William Lowell Davis, Jr. and Deborah Moose Davis. Jonathan worked in construction and was a master woodworker. He loved to carve, being outdoors, playing the guitar, and was a talented classical pianist. Most of all, he loved his girls. Jonathan was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents William Davis Sr. and Edith Davis, and his maternal grandparents Durwood Moose, Sr. and Dorothy Moose. Family members left with cherished memories, in addition to his parents, include his wife Alya Wright Davis; his much loved children, Willow, Skyla and Milah Davis; his sister Angie Davis Barbee and husband Rickey; his brother William Davis III and wife Kristan, all of China Grove; his nephews, River and Will IV and his niece Kyleigh. A loving son, husband, father and brother, Jonathan will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. The family will receive friends Saturday, August 6, 2016 from 1:00-2:00 pm at Whitley's Funeral Home in Kannapolis. Funeral services to remember and celebrate the life of Jonathan will begin at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel, conducted by Pastor Jeff Wood.
