Joseph Elmer Belanger

Obituary: Kannapolis, NC- Joseph Elmer Belanger, age 78, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at his home. He was born June 15, 1935 in Suffolk County, MA, the son of the late Jean Baptiste Belanger and Margaret Jones Belanger. Joseph was truck driver having worked for various trucking companies throughout the years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force where he served as an MP. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Cohen Belanger; a daughter, Carol Ann Mann; and two brothers. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, March 7, 2014 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC. Burial will follow at 12:00 P.M. at the National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC with military rites conducted by the Rowan County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, March 6, 2014 at the funeral home. Survivors include one daughter, Verna Poff of Sacramento, CA; two sons, Robert Jandrow and Charles Jandrow, both of Kannapolis, NC; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
