Joseph David Ellison

Joseph David Ellison, 52, of Harrisburg, passed away, Monday September 2, 2024.

He was born December 21, 1971 in Concord, NC to James R. Ellison and the late Sylvia A. Ellison.

He was preceded in death by a daughter Kayla Michelle Ellison, mother Sylvia A. Ellison, brother Robbie Ellison and granddaughter Savannah Rose Nickelson.

Joseph always loved working on cars and dirt bikes, he was able to figure out any problem with engines. At the age of 17, he got a job at Ketchie Houston, he fell in love with the process of Tool & Die making, he was chosen to apprentice with Scheffler Group overseas in Germany where he acquired more skills. He was currently working at Lydech in Hamptonville, NC.  Joseph was the kindest person you would ever meet and he would give the shirt off his back. His greatest joys in life were traveling to St. Augustine Fl with Amy and spending time with his grandchildren.

Joseph is survived by his wife of 35 years Amy M. Ellison, his father James R. Ellison, his oldest son James D. Ellison (Brittney), daughter Emily E. Ellison (Justin) and son John J. Ellison, and grandchildren Jayce, Rylee, Isabella, Waylon, Gatlin, Helix, and Everleigh, a sister in law Leslie E. Fisher, and a brother in law Mike McManus (Tiffany).

Joseph will be missed dearly by many, because he opened his heart to all unconditionally.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Morgan.  The family will receive friends following the service.
