Obituary: Kannapolis, NC- Joseph Clifford Jones, age 62, of 603 Pleasant Avenue, died Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at CMC-NorthEast, Concord, NC after one year of declining health. He was born January 11, 1947 in Stark County, Ohio, the son of the late Joseph Clifford Jones, Sr. and Naomi Veronica Herzog Jones. In earlier years he was employed with Fieldcrest-Cannon, Inc. Plt.#1 Pipe Shop and later as a truck driver with the former Collins & Aikman, Albemarle, NC and other trucking firms for many years. The funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 4, 2009 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Leon Smith. Entombment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park Chapel Mausoleum, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Jo Ann Wagner Jones; two sons, Joseph W. Jones of Charlotte, NC and Richard L. Jones of Mooresville, NC; one grandson, Joey Jones of Charlotte, NC; one brother, Frank Jones of Kannapolis, NC; two sisters, Julia Jones Brown and Elva M. Jones, both of Canton, Ohio.
