Joseph J.C. Carter Martin

Obituary: Joseph Carter "J.C" Martin, Jr., 90, died Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at his residence following a period of declining health. He was born January 2, 1921 in Guilford County, NC a son of the late Joseph C. Martin, Sr. and Dorothy Kinney Martin. Mr. Martin was a US Army veteran serving in WW2 in the European Theatre. He was a millwright by trade and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.Graveside entombment services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 30, 2011 at West Lawn Mausoleum Chapel, conducted by Rev. Judy White. The Rowan County Honor Guard will conduct military graveside rites. The family will greet friends following the graveside service.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Tony Rodgers Martin who died in 2005 and a brother, Harold Martin. Survivors include his wife, Jackie Rodgers Martin, daughter, Pamela Martin Lipe, grandson, Eric Price Lipe, great grandson, Lathen Ray Lipe, all of Kannapolis, and brother, James R. Martin of Falls Church, Va.
